Dreame X50 Master: review and verdict

The Dreame X50 Master holds an unusual place in the lineup: according to the manufacturer's specifications, it is not a different robot from the X50 Ultra Complete, but the same robot in a more compact station. Once that is established, the question this page has to answer narrows to one thing: what is that compactness worth?

The verdict in short

The X50 Master scores 8.5/10 and costs 1,099 €, that is 350 € more than the X50 Ultra Complete for a robot that is identical on paper — same suction, same brush, same navigation. The only documented gap is a Master-Compact station 24.9 cm deep, against a bulkier standard station. Unless you genuinely lack the room, it is a bad buy: the X50 Ultra Complete does just as well for 350 € less.

Who is it for?

Households that have already identified a real and specific space constraint — a recess, a fixed low cabinet, a narrow hallway — where a standard X-series station simply would not fit. For that precise use case, the X50 Master's compactness has genuine practical value.

Avoid it if…

You have no identified space constraint. In that case, the 350 € gap with the X50 Ultra Complete buys nothing extra in suction, mopping or navigation — only a smaller station, with a dust bin cut in half.

Our scores by criterion

The suction, mopping and navigation scores carry over from the X50 Ultra Complete, since the manufacturer's specifications show no difference on those criteria. Only the station score drops, for want of tanks whose capacity is disclosed and with a more restricted dust bin. Value for money is the criterion that pays the highest price for this compactness: 350 € more for an identical robot, with no gain in performance.

Against its alternatives

The table above makes the gap legible: suction, brush, navigation and battery are identical between the two models. What the X50 Master actually changes is the depth of the station — 24.9 cm against a bulkier standard station — and the size of the dust bin, cut down to 200 mL against 395 mL.

What that means in practice: unless the space available in your home demands a compact station, the X50 Ultra Complete covers exactly the same cleaning needs for 350 € less. It is not a bad robot — it is the same good robot, sold with a footprint premium that most households have no use for.

Maintenance and consumables

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the station handles mop washing and drying as well as dust bin emptying — and that bin's more restricted capacity (200 mL) implies more frequent emptying than on the X50 Ultra Complete. What remains on the user, at a frequency estimated from the usual behaviour of this kind of station: replacing the collection bag (every 1 to 2 months depending on how often the robot runs), cleaning the filter (a monthly rinse), and replacing the mops and the main brush (every 6 to 12 months depending on visible wear).
