This is the toughest use case, and the one where the spec sheet lies the most.

What matters isn’t just suction, it’s the brush. A very powerful robot whose brush clogs with hair becomes a robot you take apart every week — you lose more time than it saves. Two separate problems: pulling dirt out of them, and not soaking them.

Pulling dirt out takes suction: from around 25,000 Pa upward, you actually lift embedded dust. Not soaking them requires the robot to detect the rug and lift its mop pads — or, on the Aqua10, for the AutoSeal shield to isolate the roller.

You mostly have hard floors to mop

Here the logic flips: suction becomes secondary, and the mopping system decides everything.

Classic rotating mop pads have a structural flaw: they load up with dirt and smear it back around until the robot returns to the station. The Aqua series’ AquaRoll roller is rinsed continuously as it works — dirt leaves as it goes. It’s a difference you can see on light-colored tile.

You have a large house

Above about 120 m², suction is no longer the limiting factor — station endurance is. A robot that has to stop because its clean-water tank runs dry never finishes its cycle.

So look at tank sizes, not pascals. The Matrix10 Ultra has the largest one (5.5 L of clean water) and, crucially, it swaps mop pads by room: degreasing in the kitchen, sponge in the bathroom, fiber elsewhere. On a large house with mixed flooring, it’s the only serious answer.

You live in an apartment

Don’t overpay. In an apartment, you’ll never use the X60 Pro’s 10 cm climbing ability, or the Matrix10’s 5.5 L tank.

The D30 Ultra at 399 € suctions at 25,000 Pa — stronger than the L50 Pro Ultra at 1,099 €. It cleans edges with its swiveling mop pad and dries with hot air. For a first robot or a modestly sized home, it’s the best power-to-price ratio in the catalog.

You have tall thresholds

This is the one case where the X60 Pro Ultra Complete fully earns its price. Its 10 cm climbing ability is the highest on the market: it gets over steps that stop every other robot cold.

In an older home with pronounced door thresholds, or across two flooring levels, that’s the difference between a robot that cleans the whole house and one that gets stuck in the hallway.

The budget question

One last, counterintuitive but verifiable, benchmark: past 800 €, each extra euro buys less and less cleanliness. The real quality jump happens between 400 € and 750 €. Above that, you’re paying for comfort features (extreme climbing, mop-pad switching) that only have value if your home actually calls for them.
