Our verdict8,9/10

The Dreame L50s Pro Ultra is the most profitable anomaly in the L series: it suctions harder than models sold for up to 350 € more within the same range. On paper, it is the best suction-to-price ratio in the Dreame catalogue.

The verdict in short

The L50s Pro Ultra scores 8.9/10, the best score in the L series. At 749 €, it suctions at 30,000 Pa — harder than the L50 Pro Ultra at 1,099 € (19,500 Pa) and than the L50 Ultra AE at 599 € (28,000 Pa). It is our recommendation for households with pets and carpets, provided you do not need to reach under low furniture.

Pros

  • 30,000 Pa — the best suction in the whole L series
  • HyperStream dual detangling brush, designed for pet hair
  • Full station: automatic emptying, washing, drying and refilling
  • 350 € less than the L50 Pro Ultra, for superior suction

Cons

  • No VersaLift navigation: does not fit under low furniture
  • Climbing limited to 2.2 cm on a single step, according to the manufacturer’s specifications
  • 250 mL dust bin, modest for intensive use

Who is it for?

Households with pets and carpets, who want the highest suction power in the L series without paying the premium of an X series. It is also the best choice for anyone who values suction over the ability to slip under furniture.

Avoid it if…

You have a lot of low furniture in your home. Without VersaLift navigation, the L50s Pro Ultra will not fit underneath, and those areas will remain to be cleaned by hand.

Our scores by criterion

Suction9.5/10
Mopping8.7/10
Navigation7.8/10
Station9/10
App8.8/10
Value for money9.4/10

Value for money is, unsurprisingly, its best criterion: at 749 €, it matches the suction of Aqua and Matrix models sold 50 to 150 € higher. Navigation is the only criterion that penalises it, for want of VersaLift.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the L50s Pro Ultra suctions one and a half times harder than the L50 Pro Ultra (30,000 Pa against 19,500 Pa), for 350 € less. What that means in practice: the L50 Pro Ultra's price premium does not buy suction, it buys VersaLift navigation — useful under low furniture, of no effect anywhere else.

Against the X50 Ultra Complete, sold at the same 749 €, the gap plays out on navigation and the station: the X50 adds VersaLift and a more accomplished solution refilling. The choice between the two therefore depends on what you want first — raw suction for the L50s Pro Ultra, navigation versatility for the X50.

Maintenance and consumables

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the AceClean DryBoard station automatically handles dust bin emptying, mop washing and mop drying. What remains on the user, at a frequency estimated from the usual behaviour of this kind of station: replacing the collection bag (every 1 to 2 months depending on how often the robot runs), rinsing the filter (monthly), and replacing the main brush and the mops (every 6 to 12 months depending on visible wear).

Frequently asked questions

Does the L50s Pro Ultra really suction harder than the L50 Pro Ultra?

Yes, and the gap is clear from the manufacturer’s specifications: 30,000 Pa against 19,500 Pa, for 350 € less. The L50 Pro Ultra does not make up for it with power: its price premium buys a different navigation, not suction.

Is the L50s Pro Ultra suitable for a household with pets?

That is its home ground. The HyperStream dual detangling brush limits hair wrapping, and 30,000 Pa is comfortably enough on thick carpets, according to the specifications.

Does the L50s Pro Ultra fit under low furniture?

No, it does not have VersaLift navigation. It relies on a conventional laser distance sensor, without the chassis-lowering mechanism. If you have a lot of low furniture, that is the point to check before buying.

Should you prefer the L50s Pro Ultra or the X50 Ultra Complete?

The X50 Ultra Complete, at the same price (749 €), adds VersaLift navigation and a more complete self-refilling solution station. The L50s Pro Ultra remains preferable if raw suction on carpets is your absolute priority: at equal Pa, its brush is just as recent, and its price is likelier to drop in a sale on an L-series model.
